The Cookery Club has been one of the most enriching and enjoyable club activity. It has offered learners an exciting opportunity to develop lifelong culinary skills while fostering

d) Discipline
e) Hygiene

Meeting every Wednesday, the club provides a hands-on learning environment where students learn through practical experience, guided demonstrations, and peer collaboration.

The focus was on introducing learners to foundational cooking skills. Members began by exploring kitchen safety and hygiene, understanding the importance of clean workspaces, correct handwashing, safe handling of utensils, and proper food storage. Students also learned how to identify basic kitchen tools and equipment and gained confidence in using them appropriately.

From there, learners gradually progressed to simple food preparation techniques, including peeling, chopping, mixing, measuring ingredients accurately, and reading and following recipes step-by-step. These activities not only strengthened their practical abilities but also developed essential life skills such as listening, following instructions, problem-solving, and time management.

The club explored a variety of fun and nutritious recipes suited to their age and skill level. Each cooking session emphasized balanced nutrition by encouraging the use of fresh produce and healthier ingredient substitutes. This helped learners build awareness of healthy eating habits and the importance of making nutritious food choices.

Learners worked in small groups, taking turns in different roles from ingredient preparation and cooking to plating and cleaning. Sharing their final creations with classmates and giving feedback encouraged respect, appreciation, and confidence in presenting their work. The joy on their faces as they tasted dishes they prepared themselves was truly rewarding.
